Suining County Library has four departments, namely, the collection and editing department, the circulation and consultation department, the reading department and the technical department. The work responsibilities of each department are as follows:

一、Editorial Department

  (一)Purchase

1. The purchasing staff will select the books and journals required by the library from the catalogue of subscriptions

2. The library director approves the order

3. the purchasing staff enters the order into the computer

4. the order is sent to the relevant book and periodical ordering department/the purchasing staff organizes the staff to go to the book market for on-site purchasing

5. Receiving, checking, registering, classifying and registering books and journals as fixed assets

  (二)Processing

Book processing

1. new books stamped collection, knocking property number, magnetic pin, barcode

2. classification of new books, machine readable catalog format, printing catalog cards

3. printing book labels, pasting labels

4. Transfer of new books to the circulation department

Periodicals processing

1. Computer check-in of newly arrived journals

2. Printing and transferring lists to the reading department

3. Computerized sign-in of past issues off the shelves

4. sorting and outgoing binding of year-end back issues

6. Receiving, checking, registering, classifying and registering fixed assets of incoming bound books

5. Stamping of bound books, property numbers, magnetic pins and computer recording

6. Transfer of bound books to the reading department

Process of readers' self-purchased books

1. Readers purchase books by themselves

2. New books are sent to the library's collection and editing department

3. The collection and editing department will stamp the new books with the collection seal, collect the invoices and have them signed by the person in charge

4. the collection and editorial department will register the books purchased by the purchaser and the titles purchased

5. The invoice will be sent to the accountant for reimbursement, and the new books will be given to the readers for use first

6. After the readers finish using the books first, they will return the books to the library

7. The book collection and editing department receives, checks, registers, classifies and registers books and fixed assets

8. The books are numbered, magnetized, barcoded and transferred to the circulation department.

二、Circulation Consulting Department

  (一) Reader's card processing

Inform the reader of the materials required for the reader's card -> the reader fills out the reader's card application form -> the front desk enters the reader's information into the system -> the reader's card is delivered to the reader

  (二) Book borrowing

Check in the library with the card->find the required books in the library/helped by the staff->fetch the books to the library->check out the books with the card

  (三) Book return

Return the borrowed books to the book return desk -> Return the books on schedule -> Check in for the return of books

                    -> Return overdue books according to the relevant regulations

(四) Management of books in stock

Books are transported into the lending area -> arrange books by category -> move books to the corresponding shelves -> put books into their respective positions -> reverse shelves -> shelf arrangement

(五) Book reminding workflow

Check the information of overdue readers->Telephone/WeChat public number/verbal notification when borrowing and returning books

(六) Book defacement treatment

Defacement->processing according to regulations->advice ->compensation/compensation

(七) Handling of lost books

Open the reader information database and find the lost book -> find the information of the book (price) -> compensate/compensate the book according to the regulations -> input the compensation status into the computer and cancel the lost book

三、 Reading Department

Preparation before opening->Receiving reading cards and issuing reading plates->Visiting, reading guidance, receiving consultation and providing services->Shelf arrangement

四、Technical Department

(一) Electronic reading room management

Readers sign in and register->Duty staff check documents, arrange for access and start timekeeping->Scheduled inspection during duty->Turn off equipment in time when dismounting
